New York Cares (See Jane Love)

west village at dusk

I have an inexplicable love for New York City.  I’m pretty certain that no one understands why I feel this way;  in fact, it’s safe to say that I don’t even understand my unwavering love for the Big Apple.  Similar to young love, I am blind to its faults and tirelessly defend it to others.  I constantly daydream about moving there and fantasize about the day that I’ll be able to do so.  In the meantime, I’ll have to settle for visits.  I had a great time with friends this past weekend and was sad to see the Manhattan skyline disappear from my view as the plane flew towards Chicago.

I also tried on my first wedding dresses, which was very exciting.  I have more to try on but am definitely starting to get a feel for what I like (and don’t like).  The J Crew Wedding + Specialty Boutique was heavenly and I’ll have to steal some pictures from my friend Maggie, who took several of the interior–it’s really an aesthetic dream.

How was your weekend?

  1. I've always thought that I belonged in NY for some reason!

Oh and tell the fiance that Tom Brady broke my heart just as much as the Steeler's defense last night. THis is what I get for crushing on the enemy!!

  2. I was reading your tweets over the weekend and you were making me oh so jealous. I haven't been to New York in far too long, and I'm so close! And, I'm sure J.Crew Bridal is amazing, is there anything J.Crew doesn't do well.

  3. glad you had a fabulous big apple weekend! just found the best ever NY quote on a friends fb profile and your post made me think of it…"There are roughly three New Yorks. There is, first, the New York of the man or woman who was born there, who takes the city for granted and accepts its size, its turbulence as natural and inevitable. Second, there is the New York of the commuter ā€” the city that is devoured by locusts each day and spat out each night. Third, there is New York of the person who was born somewhere else and came to New York in quest of something ā€¦.Commuters give the city its tidal restlessness, natives give it solidity and continuity, but the settlers give it passion." – E.B. White

le sigh, right? oh how i love that crazy city.

  4. I completely understand your love affair. I found myself getting ANGRY at my mother in law this weekend for simply stating her opinion (she doesn't like NYC). I nearly started an argument and DEFINITELY pouted after she listed its faults (which I TOTALLY disagree with) šŸ˜‰
    I'm pretty sure it's a sickness…
    Leaving the House in THIS?!?!
