Shop Your Closet: Striped T-Shirt

By reader request, this week on ‘Shop Your Closet’ is a simple basic: the striped t-shirt. There are so many variation of this classic, but I think we can all agree that there are outfits beyond a t-shirt and jeans.  This week, I’m showing you how to dress it up, take it to work,  and wear it with pieces you might not before.

I bought this Madewell t-shirt last spring. I like Madewell tees a lot;  the fit is spot on, the fabric is soft, and the price is amazing but I do have one qualm: they seem to get holes easily.  It’s an issue that comes with the territory of an all cotton tee–there is no stretch to take the brunt of the day to day, and the shirts are thin so tiny holes pop up from time to time.  But I don’t toss the tees until the holes are huge–and then they just turn into bedtime tees.
