Save or Splurge: Late Summer Edition
You must know by now that I LOVE a high-low mix. Of course I love some pricey and expensive designers but I also love a value, a Target find, or a look for less. Growing up, I loved the show “Look for Less” as I, too, found it a challenge to find things and makes them look expensive on my high school/college-aged budget. Even though I have the ability to buy more expensive things decades later, I still love an opportunity to save. Maybe it’s the Midwest gal in me, but I get a rush when someone compliments an item I’m wearing and I can be like, ‘Oh my gosh, it was $20 at H&M or Target!’
So, here we go with this edition of Save or Splurge, Late Summer Edition:

Splurge:
Sleeper Linen Dress – gorgeous, light and airy. I wish it wasn’t $300! (Shop more Sleeeper here)
Love Shack Fancy white dress – The eyelet is dreamy (as it should be for almost $600).
La Ligne chunky cardigan – This cotton, chunky, mint sweater is absolutely beautiful…a true investment piece at $275.
Save:
Amazon Puff-Sleeve Gingham Dress – Same silhouette in a cotton-poly blend…but only $27!
Amazon lace dress – Same sweet tie straps and lace detail but you won’t mind as much if you spill on it.
Target chunky cardigan – So, maybe you buy the mint sweater but want another color–be sure to snag this Target version for $25!
Splurge:
Freedom Moses slides – I love a rubber sandal for summer and how cute are the prints?! ($50 – shop more Freedom Moses here)
Faithfull the Brand striped dress – I wanted to buy this dress for ra Nantucket themed party but ended up getting another. So cute, though! ($299 – shop more Faithfull the Brand here)
Closed shirt dress – A white shirt is a wardrobe staple…and so is a shirt dress, so it’s the best of both worlds! ($255 – shop more Closed here)
Save:
Target rubber slides – For $10, you honestly can’t go wrong (and the reviews are amazing!)
J Crew striped dress – This J Crew version is a dead ringer and half the price!
H&M shirt dress – You know I love an H&M steal and this dress is 100% cotton and only $24.
Splurge:
Le Superbe cardigan – Love this cotton/cashmere loose knit – gorgeous right? (Shop more Le Superbe here)
Staud white dress – I’ve had this dress on my wishlist all summer…she’s a beaut, right?! (Shop more Staud here)
Jenni Kayne dress – Free, flowy, beautiful and needed on my body all summer.
Save:
Target pointelle cardigan – How sweet is this loose-weave, pointelle cardigan? ($27)
H&M off-the shoulder white dress – This H&M version has an awful lot of Staud tendencies, don’t you think? ($29)
Amazon The Drop dress – Yes, I own this and much and have worn it all summer, just like i imagined with the Jenni Kayne version ($59).
