Christmas Cookie Traditions (See Jane Plan to Make)

toffee + chocolate saltines |
The sad truth is that I haven’t made any Christmas cookies yet this year. Blasphemous, I know, but I honestly don’t know where the month has gone. I’m heading back to my parents’ house on Thursday and know my mom will be wanting to do a little baking. Since I haven’t made anything yet, I scoured Pinterest for a roundup of treats familiar to me. Here’s just a few of the old standbys that my family has been making every year since I was a wee one.

My family and I don't have any baking traditions, but after seeing these cookies we just may have to start! Have a happy Christmas! 🙂

Too many. My favorites are a sort of cakey chocolate cookie my grandma made with a coffee-chocolate frosting. They're phenomenal!

I haven't been making cookies either! My mom found this new recipe in the Washington Post (random, I know) for Salty Chocolate Nutella Cookies. They. Are. Amazing.
Wooohooo! My mom is almost done with her baking but I still have to make my french macarons (everyone LOVES them, haha

My tradition is that my cousin always makes them…but my cousin isn't coming to Christmas so if I want my peppermint candy cane cookies, I'm going to have to figure it out and quick!
Toffee and chocolate saltines are my favorite! Way too delicious for my own good.
I haven't made a single Christmas cookie, either. Honestly, I don't love the very traditional ones. I would take a big hunk of the toffee graham cracker praline thing though 🙂
I don't have any holiday baking traditions but it doesn't hurt to start one! Those first ones look delicious 🙂 From Brooklyn with love ~jen
yummy! I love peanut button blossoms and I made a ton of paleo chocolate chip cookies for my health-crazed family 🙂 cookies are my favorite part of the season!

I'm on my second round of making Spritz cookies this holiday season. They remind me of my childhood (my grandmother made them every Christmas).
So cute, I love the Christmas tree design..
My mom and I bake & drink festive cocktails together every year. This past Sunday we made about 8 batches of cookies- I've eaten about half. 🙂

The toffee chocolate saltines look yummy! For me, it's gingerbread cookies. A little boring, but they are so fun to decorate.

That first treat looks so delicious! mmmm…
I grew up celebrating Chanukah, but now that I'm married I celebrate x-mas with my hubby's family too. This year his dad wants to make a bunch of cookies as gifts for everyone, so we're going to have a baking extravaganza 🙂

There's certainly no shortage of baking inspiration on Pinterest. If only I baked… 😉 Have a very Merry Christmas!!
Toffee and chocolate saltines? That's interesting — definitely want to try that recipe!
Oh GOD I want those first saltine cookies so bad : ) Thankfully Christmas will soon be upon us and the serious excuses to eat this sort of thing, will commence 🙂
