Chicago Family Photos

Family photos are stressful; you’re investing time and money into them with the idea that they’ll last a lifetime.  You want them to look awesome, am I right?  I’ve been using Marena Beck Photography for family and baby photos since Harry was born–she’s the best Chicago family + newborn photographer around..  She’s a friend from college (and we worked at the same consulting firm) and she traded in corporate life to pursue her dream of running her own photography business.  Along the way, she’s won awards for her photos, but most importantly, she’s great with kids and gets the most amazing shots.  Do you know how hard it is to photograph kids?  I take photos of my kids all the damn time and they’re either blurry or no one is looking.  Seriously, Teddy tries to look AWAY from the camera at all costs.  I’m pretty sure both of my kids looking at the same camera is about as rare a sighting as Big Foot.

We took these photos in Lincoln Park and she knows all the secret places for amazing backdrops.  She also has a studio in Lakeview which is perfect for newborn photos (and more props/wraps than you can imagine).
