The Best Fall Boot Styles
Fall is one of my favorite fashion seasons, and it’s not just because of the clothing! There are so many amazing shoe styles that can add variation to your outfits come fall. One of my favorites: the boot. With a variety of heel heights, shaft heights, and silhouettes, there are so many great boots out there that are functional and fashionable.
As a former stylist, I always recommend classic boot styles. You’ll have them for years and will be able to style them in so many ways. And honestly, even if I only wore trends, there are the only three boot styles you need to have in your closet.
The Best Fall Boot Styles
Tall, Heeled Boot
A tall, heeled boot is a classic boot style and is one you can have in your rotation for years. Since these will be worn with more elevated outfits, I recommend going with the highest heel height that is comfortable for you. For me, this is around the 2.5-inch to 3-inch mark.
For color, a shade of brown is always a safe option. Depending on your wardrobe, you can decide what tone of brown works best for you. I love a lighter tone like a camel-y caramel tone. It goes with everything! Chocolate brown is also on trend this year and is a great option instead of black.
I personally love these heeled boots from Loeffler Randall. I’ve had them for years and the leather has held up really well. Even with the 3.25-inch heel height, I find them to be incredibly comfortable and easy to style.
A Flat, Tall Boot
Having a tall boot that has a flat (or very low) heel will be your go-to for every day. They’re a versatile boot option and can be worn with dresses, skirts, or even with your pants tucked into the shaft.
If you don’t own a low-heeled tall boot, I recommend starting with a black leather option like these riding boots. If you already have a classic flat, tall boot in your rotation consider a pair with a little western flair like these ones.
A Low-Heeled Pointed-Toe Ankle Boot
I don’t care what anyone says, booties (or ankle boots!) are a must in any closet. Stick to the classics and go with either a black or brown pair. You’ll be able to wear these with both full-length jeans and ankle-length jeans, too!
When selecting a low-heeled boot, try to stay around the kitten heel height. This will give you a chic, elevated look. Since the heel is lower, try a pointed-toe pair to help elongate your legs. These ones and these ones are current favorites!
