The weather in Chicago this past weekend was utter perfection: warm and sunny with a slight breeze. I went on a boat tour, walked around, did some shopping–sort of like being a tourist in my own city. Sometimes I don’t consider myself a Chicagoan, even though I’ve lived here for four years now (it’s probably due to the fact that I’ve traveled extensively for work). Sometimes it’s nice to get reacquainted with the city where you live.

Hi @B! nope, no shimmer, just a very sheer linen-blend. it's actually a tad see-through 🙂

What a great walking around outfit! I've lived in New Haven for five years now but because I've traveled and lived for several months at a time in other places for the last two years I don't feel entirely at home here and still go out to touristy stuff on a pretty regular basis!

Every time I check out your blog I have hair envy. I love the casual style you sport here; how exactly did you get that cute bun? I know how to do a ballerina-bun, but that's about it. 🙂
My hair is quite blonde – after years of hilighting I am thinking that I would like to go darker,more toward my natural color. Love the color of your hair. Would you call it a honey dark blonde? Or would it be considered light brown? Do you color/hilight or are you lucky enough to have that lovely color naturally?! Really enjoy your blog posts….
hey katie! the hairstyle was just a casual, messy bun that was the result of a hot, sweaty day. as for my color, i do highlight with some lowlights and i would saw my natural color is probably a dark dark mousy blonde. i had blonde hair as a kid, though. if you're from chicago, i go to brooke at george the salon for highlights 🙂 (i go about 4-5 times a year for a partial highlight to keep it natural looking)
