Sezane Review & Size Guide
Sèzane is one of my favorite French clothing brands to shop, no matter what time of year it is. Since I first discovered them a few years ago, I’ve built quite the collection of Sèzane pieces from sweaters and knits to jackets and fun event pieces.
What I love about Sèzane is that their pieces have a slight retro feel while still being modern and classic with that Parisian flair.
When shopping Sèzane, keep in mind:
- Their pieces tend to sell out quickly, especially when a new drop is released
- They utilize French sizing, which tends to run small in comparison to American sizing
- Returns are free!
An Introduction to Sezane
Founded in 2013 by Morgane Sézalory, Sèzane is a sustainable clothing and accessories brand committed to high-quality clothing, shoes, and accessories. It’s a brand that has become synonymous with Parisian style and offers stunning silhouettes and luscious fabrics you’ll look and feel good in.
Sezane Size Guide
How Does Sezane Sizing Run?
Sèzane is a French brand and it utilizes French sizing, which tends to run slimmer than American sizing. For the most part, I find their sizing to run pretty true to size but I do take my larger size in a few items.
Every product on the Sèzane website also includes a size guide and link to their size chart. Refer to their sizing notes on how pieces run to help pick the right size. If you’re in between sizes, I’d size up. And don’t forget, Sezane offers free returns so you can always order multiple sizes and return what doesn’t fit!
My Usual Sizing
I am usually a 2-4 but a 2 is too tight for me in Sèzane so I’ll typically size up to a 4, which is so much more comfortable. In sweaters, I’m almost exclusively a small but will size up to a medium if I want an oversized fit.
Where to Shop Sezane
In addition to shopping for their pieces online, you can also shop at Sèzane at one of their locations in Paris, London, NYC, and Los Angeles.
My Favorite Pieces from Sezane
Colette Marinière
The Colette Marinière is a top that Sézane keeps in stock season after season. It’s a classic piece and goes with everything. My favorite way to style it is with the brut sexy jeans and a simple pair of sneakers. The perfect no-fuss outfit for every day! Size up for an oversized fit.
Artemis Belt
One thing Sézane does an amazing job with is belts. They have so many beautiful options but the artemis belt is hands down one of my favorites! I have this in beige suede (stunning!) but it also comes in a few other colors and is also available in leather! Be sure to reference the size chart as this belt is in French sizing.
Léontine Jumper
Sézane’s cotton sweaters are beyond and this jumper is no exception! It’s the perfect henley-style sweater that can be dressed down or elevated a simple outfit. It runs TTS but if you’re in between sizes, I’d size down as it is a little roomy.
Brut Sexy Jeans
The perfect slim-straight denim and for $125 it’s quite a steal. Also, I find these to true true to size but I have heard feedback that many have sized up (I have no butt/narrow hips–if that helps). I have them in blue and black (long).
Mederick Coat
This double-sided wool coat has a tailored silhouette and features a removal tie belt on the waist that is simply to die for. It’s the perfect coat to wear throughout fall and into winter. This coat is a little roomy so if you’re between sizes, size down! Otherwise, it runs true to size. I have it in camel and love it so much.
LouLou Trousers
Swapping my jeans for trousers is one of my favorite ways to elevate an outfit and these ones from Sézane are a favorite! They are soft, they are flowy, and they have pockets! I love the button detailing on the belt loops, too.
Tomboy Shirt
A button down is a must-have in any closet and this shirt from Sezane is a favorite! It does fit true to size but I prefer my button downs to be oversized so I sized up to a 6. This is a great wardrobe staple and it comes in so many colors as well as stripes.
Lucas Jumper
As you know, I am a sucker for a good stripe sweater and this one from Sézane is a must-have! It’s made from a cotton, wool, and (recycled) polyamide sweater and is everything a chunky sweater should be. The button detailing and the high collar give it a slightly elevated look and the ribbed detailing is to die for. I love wearing it with jeans in the fall months!
Jarred Dress
When I say I love this dress, I mean I really, really love this dress. The print is inspired by Masi, one of Fiji’s oldest traditional art forms and the colors are SO good. I love the tie neck, it adds a fun detail to the dress that doesn’t feel overwhelming with the pattern. Fits true to size!
