Four Must-Listen Audiobook Thrillers

I love recapping recent reads or listens on audiobooks as a way to share what I’m enjoying.  I have a real penchant for Audible; it’s basically one of my top forms of self-care and I always have an Audible on the docket.  I love how they organize top charts by category–I’m always discovering new audiobooks and they also have really cool exclusives, like short stories or podcasts.  Speaking of, if you have kids or maybe want to reminisce on your youth, the Audible Original Are You Afraid of the Dark podcast is EXCELLENT–my kids and their carpools are obsessed!

Let’s do a little thriller recap of what I’ve been listening to on Audible–these will get you ready for Halloween (but let’s be honest, they’re great any time):

The Five Year Lie – Sarina Bowen: My most recent read and I loved the unique premise–think an heirless of a tech firm meets a major scandal.  It was more of a slow burn (I mean, a five year lie–that in itself is a slow burn) yet kept my interest.

Listen for the Lie – Amy Tintera: I think this was my favorite of the bunch; lots of twists and such an easy listen. An old murder is examined via podc.st show and it keeps everyone on their toes!  Love that there was a podcast aspect to it–always makes audiobooks next level!

The Midnight Feast – Lucy Foley: This was fun and easy and I love listening to audiobooks with accents (makes sense as Lucy Foley herself is British).  Think rich socialites, a small town and a fancy hotel with a little witchcraft.  It kept me guessing until the end!

The God of the Woods – Liz Moore: This is a commitment because it’s long but everyone raved about it.  No doubt the prose is wonderful but it would lose me at times because it jumps timelines a lot.  Still a great audiobook and I loved the eerie feeling of it being based at summer camp!

Ok, party people, what should I listen to next on Audible?  And if you’ve never tried Audible, well, now is your chance.  I’ve been a member for so many years, I can’t even remember at this point (7?).  Eligible Amazon customers in the US can sign up for Audible Premium Plus at $0.99 for the first three months.  Now’s the time to try it!

*Thank you to Audible for being a long-term partner!
