Compromise (See Jane Style Two Ways)
Perusing spring clothes is extremely tempting right now, but sadly, such a counterproductive activity for me. Winter basically just started in Chicago and while winter coats and sweaters are on heavy markdown, it’s now (and the next three months) when I’ll be needing them most. If you’re tempted (like me) to buy spring items right now, I suggest browsing lower-priced stores to pick up a few lighter fabrics, like this Old Navy sweater and incorporating items you already own in your wardrobe to spring-ify your outfits, like brightly colored jeans or snakeskin heels (throw them in your work bag and commute in your snow boots). Or, if you must pull the trigger, buy items you can wear now (or any season) like metallic loafers or a season-less lightweight scarf.
Love how you styled the sweater, you have great taste!

I'd happily take all of these items…gorgeous pieces!!
I loved the green beans recipe as well, definately want to try that!!

I feel sad that there is no point in me investing in a summer wardrobe. I buy cheap vest tops and little dresses for the short season but only really spend my money on winter boots and knitwear. C'est la vie!!

I love leathers. I love this skirt. I love this post. I love this blog!
Very cute pieces! I love a great statement necklace with a basic sweater!
Both of these looks are perfect! I want those Chloe pumps so bad!

Love this! I have that sweater and this is definitely inspiring me on how to wear it. I actually wore a similar outfit with the turquoise coated pants and the sweater… check it out here:

Love the colored denim! I've already started buying for Spring but I've only got 2 months to go before it warms up here in NYC.
From Brooklyn with love,

I am also tempted to spring-ify my wardrobe right in the thick of winter in Canada. It might be overly optimistic but I can't stop lusting after J Crew's pastel jeans!
I'm trying so hard not to purchase anything Spring because I have a feeling this Chicago winter is sticking around for a while. Great picks! xx
Great tips for injecting some early spring in a wardrobe – and I love both styling ideas for the sweater.

I'm with you on this one. While I really do enjoy winter and the snow that comes with it, I recently found amazing deals on a pair of Nine West nude heels and a pair of Dolce Vita nude wedges. Living in the Erie, PA slush, it is nearly impossible to bring my tie baring goodies out to play just yet. They've got me itching for Spring.
This sweater is actually a great pick. I'm heading to Old Navy on my lunch break today. Now I may have to purchase this & use your styling ideas to create an outfit.

Loving those emerald jeans. I almost bought a pair yesterday but went for a deep plum instead – probably just a matter of time before I get the green ones too 🙂
Cute, I love that sweater–but have you actually worn it? I tried it on at the store and it looked terrible on me! Flattened my boobs and got rid of my waist/curves.
I need to get over to Old Navy – I've seen such amazing stuff on the blogs lately! Great outfits!

Loving both looks! I'm like that- always wanting to buy for the next season when I won't be needing it for months 🙂

Those damn spring items are so tempting, aren't they? Then you walk outside and it's negative wind chill and winter slaps you right in the face. Oh, Chicago.
Love a slouchy sweater with leather skirt – the shoes are perfect too!
I can't believe thats from old navy! It looks so nice!

Hell yeah! I bought that Old Navy sweater 2 months ago in two different colors and SWEAR it is better than its twin at Madewell. But you didn't hear me say that.
Seriously cannot go wrong.
And ps. LOAFERS
xo,

I love it!! This is so inspiring!! 🙂
I totally know what you mean. If it was up to me I'd be already wearing skirts and sandals again. But unfortunately winters just starting here in Austria. So I've been wearing my green Zara jeans pretty much 24/7. 😉

Love the sweater choice, I totally did a remix of 3 different outfits with the Old Navy waffle sweater a few weeks ago. It's so versatile! Can be worn with jeans, over a dress, or skirt.
I feel your pain! Indiana just unleashed a nasty sleet storm last week! Love your choices, especially the leather skirt!
