Spring Transition with Intermix
Springtime isn’t just about sundresses and bare limbs; actually, where I live, it’s about transitioning into warmer months, but with that transition comes cooler days. We don’t just go from the doldrums of winter to the heat of summer–layers are necessary, especially in the windy city of Chicago. I’m partnering with Intermix and their designer exclusives to show you how you be stylish (and weather appropriate) in the city–any city–this spring. Here a few spring-friendly tips whether you’re planning an escape to a city with unpredictable weather or you’re just looking to expand your transitional wardrobe:
- When in doubt, pack a suede (or leather) jacket. This exclusive suede moto from Intermix is the perfect brown shade–it looks good with practically anything and I love a suede jacket with spring palettes and florals (you can’t go wrong with a light grey IRO jacket, either)
- Layers, layers, layers. You can shed them if it’s too hot or pile it on if it’s unexpectedly chilly. I love silk tops (like this small-printed silk top) for this reason–how cute is this Intermix brand tie-front blouse?
- Go (light) blue. After a winter of jeans and boots, you think I’d be ready to wear something other than jeans, but I just can’t shake them. I opt for a lighter hue (like this Frame pair) to complement that spring palette and wear pumps, sandals or flats, instead of boots. This is my first pair of Re/done jeans and it won’t be my last–love the mild distressing and cropped skinny silhouette (another Intermix exclusive)
I’m actually headed to London at the end of next month and you can bet I’m bringing this whole outfit with me. I’ll be able to wear the suede jacket with every outfit I bring and the silk blouse will also look amazing with a midi skirt. And the Re/done jeans, well, those are a no-brainer for a city trip.
Happy Spring!
