Classic Style: My No-Fail Combo
I have a clothing combination that never lets down me–ever. It’s my classic style no-fail and it consists of pieces you probably already own in your closet. It consists of slim denim, a classic oxford shirt, a neutral coat, and one bright accessory (shoes or bag). Whenever I’m pressed for time, it never lets me down. Whenever I look in my closet and I’m like, ‘ugh. I HAVE NO CLOTHES’ this outfit sets me straight and makes me excited to get dressed. I’ve probably worn this combo hundreds of times and I’m sure I’ve worn an iteration of it here on the blog before (so what about here, back in 2016?). In addition, I even find myself pinning outfits like these on Pinterest! But I just can’t help myself…I love classic fashion style and basics.
Classic Fashion Style – No-Fail Combo
Step one: find your favorite pair of slim jeans. Great options include: Citizens of Humanity, AGOLDE, Abercrombie
Step two: grab an oxford shirt (bonus if it’s slightly boxy) and tuck it in. Great options include: Old Navy, J Crew, Madewell
Step three: don a neutral coat. Great options include: Harris Wharf, Old Navy, Abercrombie
Step four: pop on some color. Great options include: Mansur Gavriel, Schutz heels, Celine bag
Step five: wear with pride.
I’m on the never-ending hunt for a tailored, office appropriate winter coat that is actually warm enough for Chicago. Is this Everlane one warm enough for most winter days? I know I’ll always have to break out the actual parka or long puffy for the most brutal Chicago days, but I’m hoping to find a good option for 20 degrees down to -10 degrees…. thanks for any ideas!
This particular Everlane coat is solid and has a great heft to it–it’s thicker than the rest of my coats! It’s very warm. I’d say once the weather hits single digits to negative temps, though, it’s time to bust out the puffer 😉
Loving this classic style Anna!
