H&M Sweater Try-On: The Best Inexpensive Sweaters for Fall

If you caught my IG stories yesterday, I did a major try on of inexpensive sweaters to get you excited for fall.  While I love a good splurge, I also love a good save and admittedly, I have just as many cheaper H&M and Zara sweaters as I have cashmere.  Most of them are soft to the touch and great for sensitive skin because they contain very little wool or natural fibers.  I have found mine hold up pretty well but I usually hand-wash them (in the washer…delicates or wool cycle works, too) and hang dry.  I support buying inexpensive sweaters but also believe in splurges.  I know, I’m a walking contradiction–but it’s most likely due to the fact that I hoard sweaters because it’s so cold in Chicago 2/3 of the year!

Here are the sweaters I bought and below you can find how I styled them along with details on each item I wore (in order of photos):

Striped jersey top (wearing XS) – keeping as I need something a little more fitted and I love the contrast.

Mock-neck sweater (wearing S) – keeping – never met a mock neck I didn’t like!

Lightweight grey cowl tunic (wearing S) – I did NOT thing I’d like this one but I like how thin it is and that it’s looser and has a cowl-esque neck.  Keeping!

Colorblock sweater (wearing S) – not keeping because I have a similar rag & bone sweater 🙂 This is a great find, though!

Chunky ribbed turtleneck sweater (wearing S) – keeping!  No brainer – looks like a $400 sweater on shopbop.

Cream turtleneck sweater (wearing S) – I LOVE this but I have about three other sweaters that look just like it, though.  Maybe I should keep as a back-up, though….
