Mini Dresses After 30

Alright, I’m back in love with mini dresses (this one is exclusive to Bloomingdales) – for summer at least.  The older I’ve gotten, the more I’ve gravitated towards the midi-length styles (the fashions have swayed that way, too) but there was always a mini dress lover deep down inside of me.  Mini dresses are so flattering on most body types–really, it just depends on the cut of the skirt or dress.  My personal issue is that I’m on the taller side (5’9″) and I’m a 33 year old mother, so I don’t necessarily want to be dressing like I’m 16.  While I like showing a little leg, I know there’s a fine line between just right and too much.  This floral dress is on the younger side, but I make it my own with a classic, nude, block heel, cat-eye sunglasses and a structured summer bag.  Another way to embrace the mini is to wear flat sandals and even a belt bag to break up the outfit.  By the way, the mini dress doesn’t always have to be super short either – just above the knee constitutes a mini.

If you’re dipping your toe back in the mini dress, check out Bloomingdales for exclusive styles that won’t break the bank.  There are brands, colors and patterns you won’t find anywhere else (always a plus for me) at a price you can swallow.  Shop some of my picks below.
