Real Outfit Recap + The Ordinary Skincare

We made it!  Happy Friday, everyone.  I was able to snap a bunch of outfits this week (doesn’t always get to happen).  A highlight of the week was attending the Create & Cultivate x Clinique luncheon–it’s always great to see my fellow Chicago bloggers as I never get to attend events.  Also, if you saw on IG stories, my Ordinary skincare arrives (four items totaling $32…I know) and it’s only been a few days but a $9 retinol is amazing in itself.  I promise to give a full report.  It’s mostly sold out at Sephora but I snagged mine from Beautylish.  Here’s what I ordered and why:

  • Hyarulonic Acid – water-based serum, good for AM and PM.  Plumps the skin. Helps skin absorb products.  Oh, and it’s $6.
  • Lactic Acid – Honestly, hoping this is a replacement for Sunday Riley Good Genes (which is amazing).  I alternate this with retinol and only use at night. (Use sunscreen during the day!)
  • Granactive Retinoid 5% – I dipped my toe into retinol this summer and I’m not turning back.  This is an amazing price and hoping it’s my new go-to at night. (Use sunscreen during the day!)
  • Ascorbyl Glucoside Solution 12% – lots of words I don’t understand but basically this is a Vitamin C serum that I use in the morning to promote brightening.  I’ll take that.

And just a PS, I am still loving my Tula skincare – I use the cleanser, illuminating serum, mask and moisturizer in tandem with all these products! Use code SEEANNA for 20% off. (It’s not sponsored – but I love working with them because I’ve actually been using the products for months now!)
