J Crew Merino Sweater Blazer

Perhaps you remember this J Crew merino sweater blazer from my real outfit recap a few weeks ago–it’s still going strong in the rotation (and I’m wearing an XS – it runs a little big).  It’s deconstructed, yet tailored, chic but not too serious and just the jacket that I probably didn’t need but am already wondering how I lived without.

On a related note, has anyone been impressed with J Crew this fall season?  They fall off my radar for the past few years and everything I’ve purchased lately has been good quality and well-constructed (I personally feel like they went through production and quality issues over the past few years).  It reminds me of the J Crew I used to know and love (maybe the Nordstrom partnership made them step up their game or perhaps they wanted to keep up with their sister brand, Madewell – who knows).

Here’s eight other pieces that have impressed me from J Crew this season:

They brought back the rollneck sweater.

I bought this coat four years ago and they still make it!  For good reason.

These boots are Rag & Bone inspired (and for under $200).

I’ve ben wearing these pajamas for years (the pants run short, just FYI).

Simple, cute, with a modern detail and under $50.

Cant.resist.boucle.coat.

This reminds me of a Veronica Beard skirt and for 1/4 of the price!

A velvet jumpsuit that’s perfect for any holiday event.
