Peanut Butter + Chocolate Rice Krispie Treats (See Jane Make)

It doesn’t happen often, but when I get a sweets craving, it needs to be satisfied it immediately.  On yesterday’s cold, dreary Sunday, the need for sugar hit me and only peanut butter rice krispie treats would do–with chocolate on top (just like my mom used to make for my classroom birthday treat).  These sugar cravings come so infrequently that I feel obligated to satiate them–just listening to my body, you know?

3 T butter
10 oz marshmallows
1/2 c peanut butter (I used Skippy Natural to lessen the sugar)
6 c rice krispies
1 bag semisweet chocolate chips
In a saucepan, melt butter and marshmallows over medium heat.  Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter.  Add cereal and mix until coated.  Place mixture in a greased baking pan and mold with fingers. Melt bag of chocolate chips and use spatula to spread over pan of rice kris pies.  Freeze for 5 minutes (so chocolate may set).
