Sometimes, I think mid-summer dressing can be monotonous; it seems like the only options are dresses shorts. Rinse and repeat. (Note: no complaints from me, though–I dream about 88 degree days for about nine months out of the year!) Come July, I’m normally in a clothing rut. I’m hoping this lightweight vest will help me spice up the ol’ wardrobe; it’s the lightweight layering piece that I probably don’t need–perfect!

really love the long striped maxi, and the vest looks great for layering; unfortunately, here in the nyc metropolitan area, it is so hot and so humid, i would die with any layer on. i see some ladies still work the layers around here, and either they have no sweat glands, anywhere on their bodies, or they ignore them and are brutally uncomfortable.

Love the striped skirt. I have the same one and I have been wearing it high-waisted with a skinny red belt and black tank with a few swipes of red lipstick. Probably too wintery for summer, oh well!
I feel the exact same way about summer dressing. I can't deal with the humidity in New York and half the time I end up in a tank top and shorts which I find so dull.

I couldn't agree with you more! As much as I look forward to summer (every year), I keep forgetting how the heat and humidity (I'm in NYC) makes it unbearable to wear anything other than dresses or shorts/skirts and a loose tank. That denim vest is such a great buy and pulls together your look quite nicely – I might have to pick one up myself. Thanks for the inspiration!

I like the vest! I feel the opposite about summer clothing- I find winter dressing to be boring- just jeans and sweaters. I guess you could make the argument about any season, really. Your skirt reminded me that I need to put some use into my maxi dresses.
