Yesterday was easily one of the coldest days of the season so far. Sure, I know it’s going to get much chillier than what it is now, but those first few days are the hardest. They’re the sort of days that you wonder why you aren’t wearing gloves or why you didn’t wear long johns under your pants. Funnily enough, I chose to wear a lightweight leather jacket and dress with tights on this frigid day; luckily, I wore my warmest, plaid scarf and an extra layer of fur (it helps, I swear–it’s not fashion but more so function at this point) to stave off the cold.
Any cold-weather layering tips that you might care to share?

cute! I like the idea of using the fur vest as a vest to keep you warm! I have a hard time looking cute in my black columbia jacket that covers up my outfit!
I love fur vests! It's a great layering piece. Scarfs and chunky knit cowls and other neck cosys are great when the weather gets cold. I also like wearing silk slips under my shirts or dresses. It's soft and it's amazing how much warmth it adds….
I love this layered look. Many thin layers are my favorite approach to cold New England weather.

I seriously lean on my tall boot collection when it's cold- bundled up in thick socks and leather up to the knee (or higher!) really keeps the chill at bay. 🙂

The beginning of winter is the best. Get to buy new things, whip out items you couldn't wear in the summer.
yesterday i did: breton t-shirt, then chunky knit wool sweater, then knit poncho, then a faux fur stole, leather gloves and a beanie matched with leggings, wool socks and UGGs… def. NOT stylish, but def. warm!! I think you look great, those Enzo boots are the best (i used to work for them, I miss the staff discounts!!!)
