Jet Set (See Jane Pack)

I travel often for work and have become somewhat of an expert packer for my weekly jaunts.  Unfortunately, my expertise is limited to that of a corporate wardrobe and when I have to pack for fun trips and weekends away, I tend to over pack just like everyone else.   The only tip I have to offer is to wear your heaviest shoes on the plane so that you don’ have to lug them around and have more room for other things.  Thus, tomorrow, I’ll be wearing my scuffed boots on the plane; they’re comfortable and will be perfect for walking around this weekend.

a few options included a sweater, dresses, top, + blazer

packing a few bracelets, one necklace, and my watch

I’m headed to NYC this weekend to visit with friends and visit the J Crew Bridal Boutique.  These will be the first wedding dresses I’ll be trying on so I’m just really excited to finally begin the whole process, even if I walk away empty-handed.  Mostly I just can’t wait to be with my friends in my favorite city, walking around and catching up.  Since this is technically my ‘Friday,’ I’m bidding you adieu for the week.  Have a great weekend!

  1. I'm a crazy packer. I think I have OCD when packing haha. Only recommendation I have is to putting shoes in shoe bags, that way the nasty bottoms don't touch your cute clothes πŸ™‚ Some travel stores sell them and I have used the dust bags from certain shoe brands or even the cute Free People drawstring bags they put your purchases in sometimes.

Have fun in NYC and the bridal boutique!! exciting!

  2. GAAAAH Have soo much fun, I am totally jealous you are trying on gowns at the JCrew boutique, the pictures I've seen of it are stunning! You MUST go to Vera Wang (on Oak?) It was such a blast….I def feel in love, but that was more of a 'fun trip' for my mom and I bc I already knew what I would be wearing.

    Buy lots of cute stuff!!!!

  3. Oh my gosh have so much fun!! You'll have to let me know how chilly it is / if you dressed appropriately for the weather as I'll be leaving for NYC in 2 weeks πŸ˜‰

  4. Ahhhhaha kind of ironic of similar our posts are!! CUTE. Looks like you did pretty well with your packing πŸ™‚ I like the pic of the jewellery.

Eee! Wedding dresses at J Crew! So exciting! Keeping my fingers crossed for you, but then again, when you know you know πŸ˜‰

PS – Where do you live?! At first I thought you were in Canada, and now I think it's the US, but I really couldn't say.

  5. oh man… if I were to describe a trip I have coming up to you, and what my options were, would you be able to give me some minor packing consulting? I'm being totally serious, AJ… I will reward you!!

Your suitcase looks like heaven and I want to just sit next to it and have a glass of wine and ogle it, and the rest of your closet.

  6. I'm such a chronic overpacker. Every single trip I tell myself it's going to be different this time, but it never is. I do have to say that I have a much easier time packing for tropical weather. Warm weather clothing is just so much lighter/smaller.
